Garage Sale Treasure
We've all heard "Urban legends" about people finding rare and wonderful things in the most unlikely places!
Well here is mine....
My cousin's daughter is a garage sale "freak", and she found this autographed vintage photograph of Mary Pickford. She didn't know who it was at first (neither did the people who sold it to her--can you imagine??). She bought it dirt cheap, solely for the antique frame. She knew I was into silent movies and Brooksie, so she called me, described the photo and the autograph, and asked me if I would like it. WOULD I? You bet!
The ink in the inscription is a little smudged, but as best as I can make out it says, "To Abby Ann and Stephen, all good wishes from Mary Pickford and Ming Tai."
It was probably taken in the late twenties as Mary's hair is short.

I periodically check photos of Mary on eBay in the chance that I might find something similar, but no luck yet. Does anyone know of a Mary Pickford Web Site?
As I said before, keep looking! Treasures are out there!
